Cabo San Lucas…beautiful blue water, white sand beaches and warm tropical sun.
It’s the perfect place to relax, stare at the waves or lounge by a pool. In other words, it’s one of the best places in the world to just do nothing.
And then Advertise Purple showed up.
This year, our senior leadership team flew down south to strategize and plan for the upcoming year. And while the team did take a little time to enjoy some fun in the sun, the larger purpose of this retreat was to chart a way forward as our company continues to enjoy unprecedented growth.
For the third year in a row Advertise Purple has been named one of America’s fastest-growing private companies by Inc. magazine. And while any business would be envious of that level of growth, it also brings its own challenges as our team gets bigger, our technology advances and we continue to find more ways to offer value to our clients.
Our CFO Jonathan Moisan shared why it was important to get out of the office and into a new environment as we plan for the future.
“It’s super important to know people and to connect on a personal level and off-site allows you to do that. You’re able to really talk about things that you wouldn’t normally talk about and build relationships that you wouldn’t normally have. Conversation at work tends to be very direct and focused on whatever our immediate responsibilities are. But in a more casual setting, you can really get the creative juices flowing and start to really think about getting innovative with how we’re developing our long-term strategies.”
And while there was plenty of time to strategize, the team didn’t miss out on opportunities to relax as well, with wine tastings, surf lessons and even a sunset dinner cruise.
The week closed out with an awards dinner and bonfire where our highest-earning salespeople were recognized for their success over the last year.
“One of the most important parts of this trip was to celebrate the top performers on our sales team, the members of our President’s Club, and recognize how important they’ve been to the success of our company. Each winner made a speech and they recognized that there are so many people that contribute to the success of any individual salesperson. It was really inspiring.”
As much as we tout our technology, our data or our proprietary AI technology, we’ve never lost sight of the fact that Advertise Purple’s real strength has always resided in the team that works tirelessly day in and day out to deliver the results that our clients expect.
“The managers and directors at this company are smart and are willing to learn,” Jonathan adds. “They’re young and hungry and I think it really gave the leaders of our executive team such confidence in the future of Advertise Purple. There were so many great ideas put forward by so many intelligent people that we felt really well-positioned for the future. The team is awesome.”
And the mojitos. Never forget about the importance of team-building mojitos.
