LA Business Journal Ranks Advertise Purple 13th Fastest Growing Private Company in Los Angeles and as Finalist For ‘Disruptor’ Award
Let me start by saying that while we’re no stranger to awards ceremonies, receiving recognition of any sort during a global pandemic feels even better than usual.
On behalf of Advertise Purple, I’d like to say that we are both humbled and honored to be listed for the second straight year in the illustrious LA Business Journal top 100 fastest growing private companies list.
Each year, LABJ puts together a list of the 100 fastest growing private companies located in Los Angeles County. They go through a rigorous process to ensure the numbers provided by the companies are correct and that all companies chosen qualify.
Forbes recently listed Los Angeles as the third most competitive job market in the United States. CNBC put together a list of the top places to start a small business, and LA came in at 5th, only beyond NYC, San Jose, San Francisco, and Miami.
According to the LA County website, “If Los Angeles County were a nation, its economy would be the 19th largest in the world. It is home to more than 244,000 businesses, with more minority- and women-owned businesses than any other in the nation. It is the nation’s top international trade center and manufacturing center. Los Angeles County’s 37 departments and $32.5 billion budget provide extensive business opportunities to the private sector, both in contracts for goods and services.”
Last year, our growth put us at number 8 on the list of 100 elite companies in the LA area. This year, our growth listed us again in the top 15. This time at number 13.
We were also honored as a finalist for an innovation award, featuring our president at the agency, Kyle Mitnick.
Mitnick was interviewed in a segment that aired November 4th during a festive and exciting Zoom event featuring finalists for awards and primarily to stream the unveiling of the top 25 fastest growing companies out of the larger list of 100.
Here’s what Kyle had to say about the recognition from LABJ: “The old saying ‘don’t forget where you came from’ couldn’t be more relevant for our company, which over the last few years, has grown to a hundred person, global team. However, despite this growth, our community involvement, whether philanthropic or social, has always been a priority.
So when LABJ nominated us as a fastest-growing company in LA for the second consecutive year, we were ecstatic to accept the award and humbled to be in such great company. Thanks to LABJ for keeping the business community of Los Angeles connected, and most importantly, hats off to our fantastic staff at Advertise Purple for facilitating the growth!”
The event started with the top 25, which featured some awesome fellow fast-growing companies, not all of which were new companies. Also, they came from various industries and with business leaders of diverse backgrounds.
Mitnick highlighted Los Angeles and more specifically the Santa Monica area as a major part of what makes the agency tick. He noted Advertise Purple is nothing without its talent, and that talent comes from Southern California, an area with numerous smart creative minds to hire from.
So what led to all this award-winning growth? Glad you asked.
Advertise Purple is the leader in affiliate marketing management and was also nominated for this year’s launch of our SaaS product (Purply) which offers a DIY alternative to signing a contract with the agency.
Our agency has grown not only in revenue but also in other areas indicating success (even amidst a pandemic) such as employee headcount, which grew 33%+ over the course of the last 7 months.
The increase in workload due to the success and growth of our customer-base is cited as the key reason for the need to increase headcount. We’re privileged and humbled to be in a position to be growing even amidst a pandemic.
We truly believe that our offering allows small and large companies alike to competitively offer their products and services online through proven affiliate strategies that can actually move the needle and generate additional much needed revenue.
It has become our mission to help as many merchants as possible navigate e-commerce and this new digital future. We plan to continue doing so for years and years to come. Of course, hopefully that will mean more growth!
Making it a hat-trick is a new goal of ours and we certainly aspire to again find ourselves on the LABJ’s list in 2021. That said, hopefully, we will not have to attend the ceremony on Zoom next time.
We’d love to be there in person amongst all the other great business leaders here in LA county. Fingers crossed!
